About Me

Hi there, I'm Shubham from Northern India, a full-time traveler who loves exploring offbeat places and countries!

At the age of 16, I made the decision to leave my studies and conventional school life behind, embarking on a journey of self-discovery. Now, six years later, my life has been a whirlwind of travel and adventure.

I'm always excited to meet new people from all corners of the world and immerse myself in different languages and cultures.

Being naturally curious, I tend to strike up conversations quite frequently. I'm incredibly social during my travels; whether it's chatting with fellow travelers on a bus, engaging with local vendors, or exchanging banter while waiting for a train.

People often describe me as brave, but the truth is, I simply trust others and muster up a little courage to initiate conversations and connections.

Starting in September 2019, I began documenting my experiences through videos, showcasing a perspective of the world that differs from what we see in the media. You can find these videos on my YouTube channel, Nomad Shubham.

Feel free to connect with me through my social media channels:

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have experienced incredible adventures in my six years of travel:

I slept on the road amidst the forests of Russia.

I camped in the Arctic Circle, facing the harsh conditions of the region.

I hitchhiked for more than 12,000 km in Russia, exploring Siberia and the western regions.

I stayed with the military near the Vietnam border, getting a unique insight into their way of life.

Hitchhiking over 50,000 km across 80+ countries, I encountered diverse cultures and landscapes.

I spent five days with a truck driver in Russia, covering around 5,000 km together.

I found myself staying overnight in police stations on multiple occasions.

I crossed the Gobi Desert on foot in just two days, facing the life-threatening challenge of searching for water.

In Mongolia, while waiting for a lift, I even watched Netflix to pass the time.

I hitchhiked and camped in the extreme cold of the Pamir Highway, where temperatures dropped to a bone-chilling -43°C.

Undeterred by warnings of danger, I journeyed to Magadan and Oymyakon during the coldest time of the year in Russia, where temperatures plummeted to around -60°C, making it one of the coldest places on the planet.

Taking daring risks, I ventured into Taliban-controlled areas in Afghanistan and even had a harrowing encounter with the Taliban.

Throughout my travels, I sought out offbeat paths and explored lesser-known countries, making unforgettable memories along the way.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
I can tell you about the amazing Indian culture, the culture of India is one of the oldest and unique. In India, there is amazing cultural diversity throughout the country. The South, North, and Northeast have their own distinct cultures and almost every state has carved out its own cultural niche. There is hardly any culture in the world that is as varied and unique as India.

I can tell you about some hitchhiking tips and some unwritten rule of hitchhiking.

I can teach you about "juggad" system in India and other random things what I know.

I can also teach you Hindi, Bhojpuri, Rajasthani and some other regional language what I know if you are interested in it but it is one of the weirdest languages.

Learn:
I am always curious to know the other culture.
I also like to speak another language, so if it is possible I want to learn basic words of your Native language.
If you want to teach me something then I will always be eager to learn.

Share:
I can share some interesting story about my travelling and also want to hear some stories from you.
