About Me

-----------------------------------------------------
Hello there! I'm happy you came to check out my profile! 😀

This profile is currently a patchwork of different edits since 2010 😂! Apologies for the mess.

Generally,
I like to go for street art walks, to go to abandoned buildings and when I'm bored I go hitchhiking randomly. Come join me ;-)

I really enjoy the outdoors and organising activities. I like to do unusual, quirky, random, silly things. I try to always be up for crazy shenanigans and to keep an open and inquisitive mind. I love meeting new people while also keeping in touch with old friends and acquaintances. I am a big fan of traveling and of hospitality, both on the giving and on the receiving end. I care a lot about connecting to people from all walks of life and I strive to live my life to the fullest and to be a positive force in this world. I enjoy helping others on their journey and I enjoy deep talk.

I have organised a few interesting activities during my travels, like hitchhiking challenges in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta. Also some homelessness challenges in Singapore and Lisbon. All very successful events! I also host some meet up activities, campfires and hikes. I really enjoy bringing people together :)

What I'm looking for during my trips is connecting with people, learning about people, cultures, ways of thinking, etc and to experience new things, to share experiences, stories, and to spend time exploring, usually nature and urban environments.

Recently I have started dabbling a bit in content creation. I'm still very bad at it, but I am curious to try it more. So maybe if you're open to it you can be part of a future travel vlog. If not, no problem at all.

If you want to meet up to spend time together, please don't hesitate to contact me. I'm always happy when people write to me.

I did the math recently and it turns out I have hitchhiked over 60k kilometers by now. So it's fair to say hitchhiking is a passion of mine.

These days I'm a traveler and nomad on my last stretch of money before being forced to settle down.

Here are two poems of my favourite Swedish poet, Bruno K. Öijer, because why not? :p

"strawberries in my mouth
silverbeads in your heart
but weep not, weep not
we are many who wanna flee tonight"

"revenge" by Bruno K. Öijer

revenge

I love you
as long as you don't
speak clearly

the sign they throw
at your feet
says: "society"
but that's only the name
of another madhouse. Help
an invalid

away from there
and he sends you
a bill the day after

the food they wheel
forward on waggons of steel
is called: "your reward"
but it is a bowl of
jacket crowns. If
you want to live
you have to starve
if you want to live
you have to take revenge on life!

and the cross they whip
your face with
sings "Silent Night"
but it is only a heap
of revolvers that have been melted down

aaaaah, I have
been around
everywhere you lived
to pick up
your nightmares
from the gutter. I have
squeezed them
to a round Magnet
in my fist

it rips off the nails
of every house
I walk past
and the buildings
collapse
in time with your eye lids

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

BECAUSE I have a room I can share to help other people, in order to support a money free alternative for poor people to travel. AND because I like to share. It is a value in itself. ALSO when I travel myself I appreciate to be hosted by interesting friendly people who offer me shelter.

I think it is incredibly important to be willing to help your fellow human beings and also other species on this planet or beyond if there may be.

I do appreciate to meet other people and to connect in various ways. I love to get a different view of the world through s.o. else's perspective.

Love having a good life!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

BEING ALIVE.

lots of things ...

I cherish memories of hiking in the Scandinavian highlands, feeling primeval and animalistic, grounded and exhausted, etc etc. pushing it to the limit and beyond.

I enjoy peeking at the moon every now and then. It's a fleeting sensation, but it's a good one, esp when I grab sth from the supermarket.

I also really like abandoned buildings. Eerie and desolate.

Sneaking into Stonehenge, Dover castle, Arundel, Alhambra, various national parks and tourist attractions. Once even a 5* resort. Slept outside in Greece for two weeks straight. Lived in a tent in Abisko in the Arctic for 3 months, alone. Slept outside by service stations throughout germany when I was hitchhiking there. Organised tons of crazy social activities while I was living in sweden. And lots more.

hitchhiking over 30000km in Europe, Turkey, North America, Central America, middle East, SE Asia and Australia. countless adventures. Hitchhiked 6000km in Iceland during Covid.

Every day I experience fantastic stuff. Most of the time I am not able to value that. But once in a while, I lift my head and look straight into the universe and it's just "wow" or I notice someone, who really amazes me, or I have a really fantastic insight, etc. Every little thing or non thing has the potential to be absolutely fantastic and fascinating. It's up to you to become conscious of it. That is, conscious of the world around you, and of the fact that you are a part of it. And conscious of the fantasy about yourself and the possibilities you have.

Go out and live!

Teach, Learn, Share

I know Swedish. I can talk about literature and philosophy. I like to go for walks.
I am interested in: alternative lifestyles, handcraft, wisdom, secret society, ecological farming, saving the world, philosophy, indie music, personal development, human nature, self realisation, bla bla, intellectual conversations
learning how to cope with the gloomy outlook for our future.
learning how to deal with disappointment, resignation and helplessness.
share moments of happiness. share moments of sadness. share moments of gravity.
learning how to be a real human being.

I can teach you something about Swedish meadow herbs, like what filipendula ulmaria (against headache) looks like or Swedish grass like anthoxanthum odoratum, which smells really nice and tastes like cola.

I would even be willing to teach you some basic chemistry if you are interested in that.

And I wouldn't mind talking about various topics in biology.

Teaching is immensely hard.

What I Can Share with Hosts

politeness and genuine interest. Sometimes even a few munchies.

And most precious of all: TIME!
