About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To finish my Master Study before getting officially old

ABOUT ME

I am born and grew up in Shanghai. Among my Chinese friends, I am a typical Shanghainese girl. Among my non-Chinese friends, I am a half chinese half western style (maybe it's because I don't have Chinese accent when I talk in English). I left shanghai when I was 18 when that moment I started my life in Europe. Since then, I rarely have lived in Shanghai anymore. My university study provided me the chance of living and travelling in few different European countries. My working life after my graduation provided me the chance of living in Macao SAR, which due to business reason, I was lucky to travel to few APAC countries. So, in general, I have travelled to quite many places in this world, have made quite many friends from all over the world, have got quite amount of experiences in many different cultural surroundings which I am very capable of understaing and adapting myself into those cultures. But from time to time, when I "open" the world map in my mind, I couldn't help but realizing actually how "small" I am - there are still millions of the place in this earth that I haven't visited for, there are still millions of the cultures that I haven't been able to experience them, there are still millions of the values that I havn't been able to understand them. "The more you see, the less you know" is what I think about myself. I believe my life is not going to be long enough for me to know everything of this earth, but one thing I know, I am trying my best to explore them step by step, in every single day!

PHILOSOPHY

Well, I believe in Jesus in GOD. Bascially, I believe the reason I live is for paying my debt that I have had. I believe people have a lots of sin. Therefore, if one day, I am dead (no matter how I die), that will be the moment I finish paying my debts and I will appreciate GOD a lot that taking me back to him. It sounds pretty negative, but I am a total positive person, it's because I am holding this kind of philosophy, I am able to face this fact that I believe, and live positively looking forward to life in every single day, no matter how many difficultes and challanges that occur.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have offered my couchsufring two times in the past 3 years when I was living and working alone in Macau. I had a quite big apartment (about 80sqm) with two bedrooms. Therefore, every time I was able to offer the guests one seperate bedroom. That moment, I was still in my long-distance relationship with my current boyfriend who was living in Europe all the time. Therefore, my boyfriend had certain safety concerns for me when he knew that I was offering my place to strangers. Turned out, it was safe. The first one I hosted was from Poland, who traveled quite a lot. He was a very awesome guy and we had wonderful time, as well as I offered all the convenience that he could find in Macau which was a strange new city for him. However, the second one I hosted, was not that pleasant, he was from Sweden, sort of as a computer guy. But he was not talktive at all, I tried to open some conversations, however, he didn't want to chat with me, but only with his computer in my living room until 2am, although I told him I needed to get up early at 6am on the second day. He was not appreciating my free offer including free drinks and food, he gave me the feeling that he took my offer as granted. Plus, he was so NOT tidy at all, even after he left, my other bedroom still smelt pretty bad that I had to open the windows all the time. From then on, I didn't offer any couchsurfing anymore, for many reasons, but I think I did the right choice for that time beings, especially when I was living alone, as a girl in Macau.
