Hola, I’m Noortje! For the past couple of years I’ve been working and studying sustainability and now it’s time to get back to what I love to do; discover!
After doing an interrail trip in Europe and a year in New Zealand, I am now on an adventure in Central America!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I studied sustainable tourism and I learned about the concept of couchsurfing. It is one of the most sustainable ways of travelling, and it appealed to me! I never dared to sign up though because it is all about trust.

I did a 90-day interrail trip trough Europe by myself, starting in Edinburgh. I met a girl in my first hostel, she told me about her experiences with couchsurfing and I decided to give it a shot! So far I’ve met some amazing people, with the most exciting stories and intriguing travels! I love meeting new people, sharing stories and experience things outside of my comfort zone!

Interests

I love meeting new people and to be social! I absolutely adore all animals and am passionate about sustainability and low-impact travelling, no surprise there that I’m vegetarian. I like wondering around and learning about the history of places.
I also like a little rest when I just read a book, plan my trip and listen to some music!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kind of books, from sapiens to harry potter and from dan brown to bram stoker! When I was younger I wanted to become a writer, so I devoured any book I could get my hands on. One of my recent favourites is Shantaram.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Diving in Cebu, seeing Orang-Oetangs in Borneo, Spotting reindeer in Scotland, camping in the Sahara dessert,.. there’s too many!
