About Me
ABOUT ME
I don't really know how to describe myself but generally I'm (more than) slightly awkward, but also enjoy getting to know people and am quite nice and friendly (I think!). Other than that, I crave adventure and excitement, but also appreciate the little things - long walks, good conversations or a satisfying book.
PHILOSOPHY
'So nothing that we here and now
can perfectly know. Save, though the lens
our eyes raise, the old here and now.
The this, the already-going that moves us.
The red-shift we’re constantly part of.
And why not? Between what we were, and
are going to be, is who and how we best love.'
I love this, from 'So' by Philip Booth - it reflects in much prettier words than I can compose, what I think or feel about life (whatever this section means). I try to live and love as hard as I can - nothing makes me happier than seeing the people I love happy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've never couchsurfed before, but have always wanted to, and so I'm really hoping to be able to during my grad trip this summer! I'm presently unlikely to be able to host anyone because I don't have my own place but I'm more than happy to show people around sunny Singapore which has so much more to offer than tourist brochures can contain.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books - I get a little obsessive about certain authors, so I binge read their books until there are none left to read then I get a bit sad. So far, my favourites include Milan Kundera, Kazuo Ishiguro, Haruki Murakami, Salman Rushdie, Jonathan Safran Foer, Khaled Hosseini. And also I have read and re-read Harry Potter countless times.
Music - anything and everything with a good singable tune. Nothing too noisy or techno-ish. Good poetic lyrics are a bonus. All time favourites include The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, Death Cab for Cutie, Stars, Belle & Sebastian, Coldplay, John Mayer
Movies - mad about movies, almost all genres except horror because I have a weak heart and a wild imagination. I have to also mention that I love TV serials and go slightly crazy about them.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travel wise, I've never seen or done more amazing things than during my 6 month exchange in New Zealand last year, in particular, swimming with wild dolphins in Kaikoura, kayaking at dawn in Milford Sound, hiking the Franz Josef glacier and doing the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, all of which left me mostly quite speechless at the sheer beauty of it all.
