ABOUT ME

Right now I'm working a lot at Cafe Racer; as a bartender I enjoy meeting all sorts of different people that come to this establishment. I also love to cook, and am able to expand upon this passion while running the kitchen there. Other hobbies I enjoy typical of the 20something Seattlelite include playing in two rock n roll bands, reading, photography, yoga, cribbage, and hanging out with my boyfriend and cat.

PHILOSOPHY

Uhhhhhhhhh...... I love learning from people. I've found that I can enjoy the company of people who are the exact opposite of me in every way, if I get to know them enough. I'm always surprised. I share the view that we are all and all is one and all that stuff, so I try to treat people and view people accordingly.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have always been passionate about building and strengthening community. In college I majored in Community, Environment & Planning which revolved around the idea; the major was entirely student run and governed. I couldn't begin to count the number of times the word 'community' was spoken, read or written about. After and during college I became part of a music community and would (and still) host 'family' dinners for every friend and acquaintance that wanted to come. Now I work in a bar that exists solely because of the strong community that surrounds and believes in it. I want to participate in the CS project because it would further add to my love for uniting people and places and becoming more a 'global citizen'.

None! Yet. But I've heard great things and I may be coming to a couch near you in the future!

I've lived three months in India. Every breath, step, and sight was absolutely amazing.
