About Me

PERSONAL REQUESTS ONLY: All copy/pasted requests will be politely declined. Please read this entire profile, including the next page with the home/couch description, before deciding to submit a couch request. Thanks! 🐕

ABOUT ME: I am a pilot, an improviser, a teacher, a Nordic and Alpine skier, and an adventurer. I love hiking long and short distances, walking at night in the rain, paddling between islands, playing games like Code Names and Carcassonne and Spyfall, and connecting genuinely with people like you. I tend not to be excited about things like drinking, drugs, television, and popular culture.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I offer space for travelers, and I look forward to staying with you on my next adventure. I also do my best to coordinate others' efforts and answer questions.

Music, Movies, and Books

These books are rich in truth about what it means to be human:
Shantaram, by Gregory David Roberts
Endurance, about the Shackleton expedition
The Miracle of Mindfulness, by Thich Nhat Hanh

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Learning to fly. Visiting a village in India that had never before seen a foreigner. The Alaska Highway in winter. Being licked by a tiger.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can show you the wilderness, possibly take you flying, offer Pacific Northwest transit/travel tips, and show you how to make an ultra-lightweight portable stove out of used beverage cans... and I'd love to learn anything that you're passionate about and willing to teach!

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you let me, I'll cook dinner and wash your dishes. Seriously.

Congratulations, gentle reader. You have made it this far! But, you're not done yet. Be sure to look at the next page too:
