TRAVEL ADVISORY: I am traveling during the first 3 weeks of August. My couch is NOT available from August 1st until August 24th.
ADVENTURE COUCH: During summer, my couch is primarily in the San Juan Islands, but I visit Bellingham frequently and can meet you there at the airport or the BoltBus stop (Cordata Station). If you already have plans for how you want to spend your days in Bellingham, you may find that this couch isn't a great fit.
PERSONAL REQUESTS ONLY: When I send a couch request, I tend to think of it like applying for a job, but in two minutes instead of two hours. What are the things about me that are really relevant to this person's interests? Why do I think we'll get along? If you are interested in surfing my couch, I would encourage you to do the same. All copy/pasted requests will be politely declined.
DOGS WELCOME: Seriously, if you have one or two awesome dogs with you, you're at the top of my list.
ABOUT ME: I am a pilot, a poet, a teacher, a problem solver, a Nordic and Alpine skier, and an adventurer. I love hiking long and short distances, walking at night in the rain, padding to nearby islands, playing contemporary games like Carcassonne and Dominion, and connecting genuinely with people like you. I tend not to be excited about things like drinking, drugs, television, and popular culture.

Music, Movies, and Books
These books are rich in truth about what it means to be human:

North to the Night, by Alvah Simon
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Learning to fly. Visiting a village in India that had never before seen a foreigner. The Alaska Highway in winter. Being licked by a tiger.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can show you the wilderness, possibly take you flying, offer Pacific Northwest transit/travel tips, and show you how to make an ultra-lightweight portable stove out of used beverage cans... and I'd love to learn anything that you're passionate about and willing to teach!
