ABOUT ME

Man, I am so excited to be part of couchsurfing. I'm so happy to be in Bemidji, Minnesota, right where I grew up as a child and now am back as a community member. I love being outdoors, I love working hard and playing hard, and I love kicking it, too. I'm a chic that digs life and a lot of what it has to offer.

PHILOSOPHY

Life! I dig down and try to find what's Quality, what's Real. Like a well-crafted canoe paddle or a handful of old acorns given to you by a 3 year-old...I seek out moments that remind us how beautiful life can be, if we want it, if we make it. I believe we are each in the driver's seat of our own destiny.  I love finding out why other people live their lives. Growing, growing, growing... so, let's go, yis?

Cool cookbooks. Nourishing Traditions, anything by Tom Robbins, Wild Fermentation, The Prophet, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, Solviva, EE Cummings, Ray Bradbury, William Stafford, Rainer Maria Rilke, etc...

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I spent a year mainly on my own, abroad. I traveled throughout New Zealand and learned so much about myself and the world it would take much more than a text box to fill. I also spent a cold Northern Minnesota winter in a tipi without running water or electricity.

I would love to learn from you!
What can I share? Fun cookings, the outdoors, the best place to have coffee in town, the best place for a pint, good hiking and running (or skiing in winter) trails, and if you're here on a Thursday and dig music--or even want to try your hand at performing-- we can hang out at open mic night at the local pub.
I know about the local ecology. Pianos. Snowman making. Fresh pumpkin pie. How to rock out in the summertime.
