About Me

32, social worker, sporty guy. Always looking for new people to meet, new experiences to make and new grounds to explore.
Recently I finished my Masters degree and going to start my PhD, concerning the question how universities can support societal transformation processes, soon.
In my freetime, I like to spend my time with friends and family, as almost everybody does, I guess 😄 Besides that, I regularly hit the gym or go running.

Besides my job and hobbys, I'm pretty involved in transition initiatives in my city, like communal gardens or "Siegen isst bunt" (a local group me and some friends founded, engaging in the fields of food education and the construction of local sharing structures) and similar organisations that work for a sustainable world. Also, I'm doing a lot of food saving, which means that most of the foods I consume are either saved from the containers of local supermarkets or picked up from stores via foodsharing.org and / or shared by others. If you're interested, I'd gladly show you how this works! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Giving and receiving the oppportunity, to travel the world without worrying about a place to sleep, is one of the best things, in my opinion! Furthermore, I find it very interesting to gain new perspectives by being granted access to peoples lives, their point of views and their connection to the town they live in.
I've made the experience, that there is no better possibility to explore a city, than living with one of its residents. :)
If I'm not travelling by myself, I'm always willing to host you at my place!

Music, Movies, and Books

Most of the books written by Paulo Coelho, Hermann Hesse, Erich Fromm or Michael Salomon-Schmidt.
In addition, I'm a big fan of good phantasy, like the worlds of Patrick Rothfuss or Anthony Ryan.
Music: A good mix of electronical stuff (Deep-House, Liquid DnB, Progressive), alternative music (Portishead, The Lumineers, Passenger,..) and a lot of german HipHop.

Teach, Learn, Share

How to change your daily routines to a more sustainable lifestyle without big struggles, creative cooking (without recipes and big shopping courses, simply with stuff you find), kickboxing and fitness stuff.

What I'd like to learn is who you are, how you live and what your perspectives on the world are. If you have stuff to teach me besides that, I'll take these opportunities as well :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Food, Fun, my experiences and myself.
Also, I'm pretty undemanding. If you like to spend time together, I'll gladly do that, but if you're more the type of person that just shares his living space and is not interested in socialising, I'm also fine with that :)
