About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME

My friends would probably say that I am an intelligent, caring, passionate and talented human being who is fun to be around, a real friend who they can rely on, a conscientious objector, musician, poet, thinker, bookworm

PHILOSOPHY

€Ž"Words are a pretext. It is the inner bond that draws one person to another, not words." Rumi

"Gamble everything for love if you are a true human being, if not leave this gathering." Rumi

"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind." Dr Seuss.

€Ž"Our love of each other was like two long shadows kissing without hope of reality."Anais Nin

LANGUAGE, n. The music with which we charm the serpents guarding another's treasure. The Devil's Dictionary, Ambrose Bierce

"If you could only sense how important you are to the lives of those you meet; how important you can be to the people you may never dream of. There is something of yourself that you leave at every meeting with another person." Roderick L. Evans

"Lovers don't finally meet somewhere. They're in each other all along."Rumi

"Yes: I am a dreamer. For a dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world."Oscar Wilde

"Without music, life would be a mistake."Friedrich Nietzsche

"You think your pain and your heartbreak are unprecedented in the history of the world, but then you read. It was books that taught me that the things that tormented me most were the very things that connected me with all the people who were alive, or who had ever been alive." James Baldwin

"Love does not begin and end the way we seem to think it does. Love is a battle, love is a war; love is a growing up."James Baldwin

"One day I will find the right words, and they will be simple."Jack Kerouac

€Ž"The only truth is music" Jack Kerouac

"There was nowhere to go but everywhere, so just keep on rolling under the stars."Jack Kerouac

"It's so hard to forget pain, but it's even harder to remember sweetness. We have no scar to show for happiness. We learn so little from peace."
Chuck Palahniuk

"Never think that war, no matter how necessary, nor how justified, is not a crime."Ernest Hemingway

€Ž"Never tell the truth to people who are not worthy of it."Mark Twain

€Ž"the language of friendship is not words but meanings." Henry David Thoreau

Music, Movies, and Books

It takes ages to come up with all the names and titles but here we go.

As for books, I read whatever I can get my hands on and I have a bad habit of trying to read a few books at the same time. Like 2 chapters of a crime novel on the tram to school, 1 chapter of a history book on my way back, the day after, it can be a book of poetry and an autobiography.I finish them all but the order can be different than what I initially expect :D I have read quite a few of the classics of Western Literature and there have been some other books that inspired me a great deal. For example, Theatre of the Oppressed by Augusto Boal. Farewell to Arms by E. Hemingway and some of his short stories, or Edgar Allan Poe's short stories, White Nights by F. Dostoyevsky, The Age of Reason by Thomas Paine, The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins, Nazim Hikmet's poetry, On the Road by Jack Kerouac, Malcolm X's Autobiography, Johnny Cash's Autobiography...and at the moment I am reading The New York Trilogy by Paul Auster.

As for music, I can listen to whatever type of music I can depending on my mood. But generally I am more into folk, rock, pop, blues, jazz, classic, r&b, country, indie, raggae. I feel like I am stuck between the 50s up to the 80s in terms of song-writing and sound with a bit of a mixture from today. In order to give a couple of names for the range I find myself listening to... Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Beatles, Elvis, Ray Charles, Louis Armstrong, Joan Baez, Cat Stevens, Bruce Springsteen,Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Eva Cassidy, Alicia Keys, Jordan Sparks, Rihanna, Shakira, Damien Rice, Glen Hansard, Ray Lamontagne, Chris Daughtry, Audioslave,RHCP, Metallica, SOAD, Mavi Sakal, Baris Manco, Cem Karaca, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, Erkan Ogur, MFÖ, Bon Iver, Dus Sokagi Sakinleri, Yasar Kurt, Kurban, Duman, Justin Timberlake, Teoman, Sukriye Tutkun, Sebnem Ferah and so many more that I can't think of right now...

I will try to write down some movies when I have the time :D
