À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
"For small creatures such as we, the vastness is bearable only through love." ~ Carl Sagan
ABOUT ME
Hello. My name is Marc. I study ecology at SUNY Plattsburgh. I am a very nice person and I even have the moxy to say that I am one of the nicest people in the world ;) Do not be fooled by my dark sense of humor! I can be a quiet person, but once I'm comfortable, I tend to explode in colors (cool visual!). There's nothing I enjoy more than exchanging chemistry with new people. People offer whole new worlds to be understood and I seek to share those worlds.
I'd also like to say that I have no comments or friends on this account because I had to create a new one. So if you want references, try this link to my other profile to view them: http://www.couchsurfing.org/profile.html
PHILOSOPHY
I won't go off the deep end, but I would have to simply say: Gnosis. Through understanding, knowledge, and the ability to think in future-tense, are true means of shaping the world and in a more personal sense, developing wisdom.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm a little confused about the question but I guess I would have to say that I educate. My contribution to civil society is sharing love and engaging the mind.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted the same surfer twice and I have surfed once. My surfer was very nice and we still keep in touch, though since I moved, not so much anymore. And my host was very nice as well. I couchsurfed in Plattsburgh and now I live here. Haha.
Centres d'intérêt
I really enjoy hiking, botany, astronomy, disco, dance parties, technology, hacky sack, video games, books, cooking, yard work, coffee on a porch during a warm summer morning (fall mornings are great too!). I really enjoy quite a lot. Tea parties. Definitely a mixed bag of interest.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
All time favorite movie: Braveheart. All time favorite band: The Smashing Pumpkins (Mellon Collie and earlier) though my life theme song is Electric Feel by MGMT. I enjoy reading Carl Sagan. Life Ascending is pretty cool. That's one I'm reading currently and I highly recommend it.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Well... haha. I've been to Dublin... for three days (long story). I've been to Washington State for a week and a half (another long story). I've walked 30 miles in a day for some meatloaf (also a long story). I hiked in the Adirondacks for four days with three peanut-butter and jelly sandwiches and a little satchel. That was pretty fun! What cool things have you done!?
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
I'm sure there are lots of things I could teach. There is also much I can learn. Hikes with me can be fun. I can point out different flora and some wild edibles. I'm sure there is a culture about me that I am not entirely aware of, but through other people, that culture can be understood.
