English first:

I want to be a life-long learner.

My philosophy as of late: I want to use the ingredients that are available to me to make the best meal I can and then accept my best efforts.

I am a lover of music and songwriting. I sing, play piano, and guitar, but I am always willing to and looking to learn new instruments (I like anything with strings e.g. banjo, mandolin, ukulele). I make my living writing, recording, touring, and working in a band called Próxima Parada.

My mom always told me life is about being interestED and not just interestING. That feels really important to this day.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed in Madrid at Carlos Lugo's apartment for five days; what a guy.

I stayed with Emiliano Bruno in Sevilla, Spain. In less than twenty-four hours, I can honestly say that we became life-long friends.

I surfed at Bree Alexander's apartment in Granada, Spain. Another great experience

I surfed at Natalia Samarcande in Lisboa, Portugal. In four days, the five of us (Natalia, her boyfriend Sergio, another couch surfer Christian, and my good friend Nick Tate) became like one big happy family. It was somewhere along the lines of magical.

The list continues, and not a single bad experience.

I have hosted various travelers in San Luis Obispo, and every one of them as lovely as the next!

Música, películas y libros

Music:

Basically all I care about is that the music have some integrity and come from the soul. I love music from around the world. A few artists who have influenced me in one way or another: Ray Charles, BOB DYLAN, The Beatles, Tinariwen, Led Zeppelin, John Prine, Thelonious Monk, early Carla Morrison, Nick Drake, Khruangbin, Mac Miller. I love old blues from the 20s, 30s and 40s. I love music from around the world.

Movies:

A few faves that come to mind: La Vita è Bella, Harold and Maude, Catch Me if you Can, The Shawshank Redemption… above all, I prefer movies that I can learn something from but I also looove a decent amount of dumb movies like Big Daddy and Austin Powers 😅

Books:

A few faves: Siddhartha (and other Hesse books), Nietzsche (The Gay Science, Thus Spoke Zarathustra, etc.), The Myth of Sisyphus (Albert Camus), Peace is Every Step, A Clockwork Orange, HARRY POTTER
