I'm an American expat living in Hong Kong and working in the financial industry. I am interested in learning about world history and culture and I like to travel to see the important cultural and historical sites around the world. I am especially interested in China and I'm studying the Chinese language and Chinese calligraphy. I also love cats.

I like classical music, Irish folk music, and industrial music. I watch mostly action movies and sci-fi. I read a mix of classic literature and nonfiction books about economics, science, or history.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visited the ruins of Khara-Khoto (黑水城) in the remote western reaches of Inner Mongolia.

I know a lot about financial markets and world politics, and also about mathematics and machine learning. I am also happy to help people practice English.

I am always happy for the opportunity to practice speaking Chinese. I like to learn about history, and when I'm traveling I especially like to see the things and places that are part of the history of the place I'm visiting.
