HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Haven't participated as much as I'd have liked, but love it for the joy of meeting people and the affordability. It's a great community. Trying to travel more, and want to host once my living situation makes some more sense.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed with some wonderful people in Paris, hosted a cool guy in London, and otherwise have used it as fuel to remind me that I can travel well - my early traveling life was always staying with family and family friends who I usually didn't know too well, but it was the best, so this is like an extended version of that.

Music: I could enjoy just about any music. Joni Mitchell is my all-time favourite. I love Wyclef Jean, Bob Dylan, Estelle, The Be Good Tanyas, Vampire Weekend, Serge Gainsbourg, Johnny Cash, Cecilia Bartolli...etcetera

Books: lots of nonfiction. Pablo Neruda, Jiddu Krishnamurti, Like Water for Chocolate, A Freewheelin' Time - Suze Rotollo, A Walk in the Woods - Bill Bryson, Shantaram, Hidden Life of Dogs - Elizabeth Marshall Thomas
