About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To connect with people and places

ABOUT ME

Life has been good to me. From Mt. Everest to the Dead Sea and so many places in between, I've gotten to see the beauties of the earth and share incredible places with wonderful people. It is my desire to connect with others, to share my passions, to see more of the world, and show hospitality to others. I've traveled to over thirty countries on six continents and hope to see many more. More important to me than checking off travel "to do lists" is to share deep and meaningful moments with those on the journey with me.

PHILOSOPHY

Love and be loved!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had the pleasure of hosting a Spanish student in my university town of Madison, WI for a few days when I was in town, and one great thing led to another: What started out as just him and I became him, myself, and another CSer from Turkey - plus a table of ten or so great friends, hanging out at the Terrace in Madison, sharing conversations and life.

Interests

I love ... nature, being immersed in a good book, deep conversations (preferably around a kitchen table or a campfire), food that enhances your life, being active, writing, seeing the world, planning future adventures ... I love learning about the world around me, and I've got a lot to learn.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in Xian, China my friends and I decided that we wanted to climb Mt. Hua (Hua Shan). We had a really hard time getting conclusive information about whether this mountain actually existed or how we could get there or how long it would take to climb it, but we found a bus and it took us where we needed to be! We started our climb at 7pm, and hiked up the steepest mountain in China until we reached the peak at 2am. There was no lodging, so we were left to 1) rent long overcoats that looked like they once belonged to Mao and 2) sleep on the rocky peak. The sunrise was mediocre, but the experience was one I will never forget!
