ABOUT ME

Retired high school chemisty teacher. I'm currently doing some research on how the cloth/textile trade has influenced history for a book.

PHILOSOPHY

I decided when I was in junior high school that my goals in life would be to enjoy myself and help others. This hasn't changed.But I do find that I sometimes have to make choices due to not having enough time and energy to do everything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed with one person from couch surfing in Boston. I had to get back from Lowell by a certain hour which was a bit inconvenient. Otherwise my host was okay.

I enjoy traveling and meeting new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

folk, jazz, some rock and roll-I like music that I can dance to. I hate loud music.
books-novels, mysteries (eg Linda Fairstein), biography, science- One of the book that I recently enjoyed was The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan.I am a fan of Charles Dickens.
I enjoy movies but there aren't a lot of recent movies that stand out. I enjoyed "Persepolis". I usually like movies by the Cohn brothers.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to meet people who are well educated and can teach me something about their field.
I'd love to meet people who are involved in the environmental movement and people involved in textile production and/or research.
