I tend to think big cities (like London) are very commercial and finding the best little spots are tougher when you dont meet people who know the right kind of vibes

I've co-piloted a friend's plane over the Hartebeestpoot Dam, really nerve wracking at first as the pilot disables his controls and tells you that you're in control of the plane, but after a while you get an awesome feeling of freedom.

rented a motorcycle and rode it for 178km from Chiang Mai to Pai in Thailand. one of the best things i have ever done, amazing experience, met some great friends and made some lifelong connections.
