ABOUT ME

Nuha: Food and sports are my two favourite things.
I am vegetarian but always eager to try new dishes, especially spicy ones, but not mushrooms.
Sports; I like individual sport more than group ones, like Yoga, running, and weightlifting are the ones I am most interested in.
Music is like air, it is not an option ;)

Alex: I'm interested in dance, meditation and physical activity. I try to enjoy what comes my way and not search too frantically for what is better than right now. But sometimes I search ;)

PHILOSOPHY

Nuha: The time is now. There is no definite tomorrow.

Alex: Above all else, to yourself be true.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Nuha: I volunteer in different school and community centers.

Alex: I'm a high school teacher, much of my time/energy is put towards trying to facilitate learning for myself and my students. That's where most of my benevolent energy goes.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Nuha: I have only 3 experiences with couch-surfing. They were all super meaningful :)

Alex: At this point, I have no couchsurfing experiences besides hosting friends/acquaintances with Nuha in our home outside of the couchsurfing internet world.

Interests

Nuha: I am interested in life, in stories and in new experiences.

Alex: I am interested in connection, most of all. I used to really enjoy having animated discussions (arguments?) about opinions but more and more I am moving away from this and looking to share space with people rather than compete for it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Nuha: There are too many movies and music... The Fantastic mister Fox.. Fight Club.. Bonobo.. we can chat about the rest in person ;)

Alex: "The Grand Budapest hotel" is new and wonderful. I found this movie very inspirational, same with the movie "Her".
For music.... The dawn of midi, Tune-Yards, Keith Jarrett, James Blake... too many to name.
Books: Cloud Atlas is the best piece of writing I have read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Nuha: I have been to Mars and back ;)

Alex: Looking inside with systematic purpose is the best thing I have ever done.

Teach, Learn, Share

Nuha: I believe that I can share not teach; I can share my life stories and you can share yours :)

Alex: They all come together when things are most appropriate... and I don't mean appropriate in a 'polite' sense but in everyone lining up with what's within and without.
