About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To do one thing every day that surprises myself!

ABOUT ME

I am a creative, fun-loving guy, always looking for a new adventure or project to undertake. I'm a competitive fencer (foil), a 9th century Viking reenactor and a member of the 405th UNSC Spartans, a costuming group focused on the Halo series of games.
When I'm not working for the best video game company on the face of the earth, I'm a tailor, specializing in bespoke yesteryear fashions from the middle ages through the reign of Queen Victoria. I'm also a Journeyman blacksmith, although I have no forge of my own at the present, and an out-of-practice bass guitarist.
Every morning, I wake up and ask how I can challenge myself mentally with the tasks I have to complete.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a realist, some say a pessimist. I'd rather plan for the worst and be pleasantly surprised, than hope for the best and be unfortunately blindsided.
My motto at the top is true. I go out of my way to do at least one thing that is not in my normal idiom, whether it's taking the extra-long way home just to drive under new trees, or contacting a friend from long ago to spend an afternoon getting to know again.
When it comes to religion, I guess you could say I'm an animist. I believe god (God, GOD, Jehova, Allah, Rama, Odin, Zeus, I see no difference in the creator) is present in all things, and that a specific set of restrictions or the overhanging threat of eternal pain are crutches to understanding him/her/it. We should not need a book, scroll, or tablets to tell us how to live moral and ethical lives, nor should people be forced to see things from another's viewpoint, even one as dogma-free as mine.
Politics are another matter.
