I like to meet and connect with new people, especially locals of the destinations I'm visiting. I think this allows you to form a deeper connection with a destination, and makes for a better way to experience it.

Music, Movies, and Books

"I dig music". I enjoy most types, primarily pop punk and "emo", but also indie, pop, "alternative" whatever that means, misc 80s songs etc etc.

The movies of Richard Linklater and Wes Anderson. Some of my favourite TV shows are Broadchurch, Scrubs, Law and Order: SVU, and Gilmore Girls.

Second hand books are my weakness. I can't enter a second hand bookstore without buying at least a few... I lean towards classics because I find the wide selections can be overwhelming, so I'll stick to what I know. But apart from that, my favourite authors include Richard Yates, Haruki Murakami, Helen Garner, Margaret Atwood, Salinger (but I didn't really like Catcher In The Rye... mostly just Nine Stories).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently did a workaway at an eco retreat in Byron Bay, NSW (Australia). I was only there for around a month, but it was one of the best months of my life. It opened my eyes to a new way of life, of eating, of meeting people.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My terrific sense of humour, ha. But in more practical terms, a home made vegan meal and a bottle of wine.
