PHILOSOPHY
I really hold the Jain philosophy of non-violence very close to me. I often think and discuss about how that notion fits into a modern world and about what parts of the human condition really contribute to violence across the globe.
Interests
I am a total music lover. Anything from classical to dance beats from around the world. I play violin, a little bit of piano, and I love to listen. For some reason, I never hear music lyrics when I listen to music - I only hear the rhythms, baselines, and melodies/harmonies. Hence, I love music in foreign languages!
I love to travel and chat with people in random places - whether it be an airline trip, a bus stop, on a metro - I'll just talk it up.
Did I mention that playing tennis is my drug of choice?

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: My favorite is One Hundred Years of Solitude - Gabriel Garcia Marquez
Art: I've recently been obsessed with the Dali-esque style of Ora Tamir from Thousand Oaks, CA
Movies: Fight Club, Braveheart, Pather Panchali
Music: Basically everything except Country. I'm really into French and Arabic music fused with some African rhythms ie. Magic System and Zap Mama!
Teach, Learn, Share
What I can teach:
- Some classic Gujurati vegetarian dishes (I really like to cook).
- Garbha & Raas (Gujurati folk dancing)
- Bhangra (Punjabi dance style)
- I guess some things about how the human body works (since that is what I'm studying...)
What I want to learn:
- More French
- I like to cook - but I don't know many dishes beyond traditional Gujurati cooking. So, I'm always up for learning a new dish.
- Ethnic dance styles
