Overview
About Me
Hi! My name is Thắng. I’m a software engineer currently living and working in Singapore. Originally from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, I’m easy-going, curious, and always excited to meet new people from around the world.
Outside of work, I love trekking and exploring the outdoors — whether it’s a hidden jungle trail, a quiet mountain pass, or a sunset hike with a cold drink at the end. I believe the best way to experience a place is to walk it, taste it, and meet its people.
I also have a big interest in history, especially Vietnamese history. If you’re curious, I’d love to share some fascinating stories and little-known facts while we explore. From local food stalls to chill rooftop spots, I enjoy discovering the places that make each city unique.
If you’re visiting Singapore, don’t just look for a host — look for a friend who will make your trip a little more memorable.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m here to make new friends, exchange stories, and learn English in a natural way. I believe meeting people from different cultures is one of the best ways to grow — you don’t just learn a language, you learn about life.
I enjoy sharing local experiences with travelers — whether it’s grabbing street food, exploring hidden corners of the city, or just sitting down over coffee or a beer to talk about anything. Couchsurfing isn’t just about finding a place to stay; for me, it’s about genuine connections, cultural exchange, and creating memories that last long after the trip ends.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to a mix of rap, rock, and pop — anything with good energy and meaning behind it. When it comes to movies, I’m a big fan of Christopher Nolan’s work — I love films that make you think, with unexpected twists and deep stories.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I’m not sure I’ve done anything truly “amazing” yet — but I believe every small adventure counts!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share stories about Vietnam, from its history to hidden local food spots, and even teach you some basic Vietnamese phrases or slang. I’m eager to improve my English and learn about different cultures, ideas, and travel experiences. Whether it’s exploring the city, talking about trekking adventures, or enjoying a cold beer, I believe the best part of travel is sharing genuine moments with great people.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share good conversations, stories about Vietnam, and tips on exploring Ho Chi Minh City like a local. If you’re curious, I can introduce you to delicious Vietnamese dishes or even cook something simple from home. I’m always happy to swap travel experiences, learn about your culture, and bring along a positive, easy-going vibe — plus maybe a cold beer or two to enjoy together.
