Overview
About Me
I'm a happy, outgoing, impulsive, curious and analytical person. I love videography and teaching. Filming weddings and teaching little kids a new language are my favorite things to do, work wise. In my spare time I like to cook, learn new stuff and learn new skills. The stuff and the skill in question change all the time.
I'm originally from Holland but I live in Eilat now. I ended up here because of my (now) fiance whom I met through couchsurfing 3,5 years ago. He was my host and 3 years later he proposed. Weird how life can take such unexpected turns, right?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting people from all over with different cultural backgrounds and especially all the different cuisines. CS is great way to get to know people without even having to set foot outside your own house.
My #1 couch surfing experience is of course meeting my (now) fiance. I met him in the summer of 2013 when I was CS'ing through Israel. I've sinced moved to Israel and now we're hosting ourselves :)
Interests
I love cooking! I'm a vegan and I try to make everything from scratch. I'm always up for some junk french fries though. My favorite cuisines are Ethiopian and Indian. I like anything spicy that's bursting with flavor, especially dishes with tons of garlic! A close second is french fries. I LOVE french fries.
I recently started doing aerial acrobatics. It's quite the challenge but I really enjoy that it requires a lot of strength and flexibility. I come from a dance background and I still really enjoy dancing too.

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't watch movies or tv series that often. The only genre I really enjoy watching are biopics/true stories and documentaries. You can also catch me binge watching reality tv, but the good kind. I have a secret passion for Bollywood movies too. (Which Khan? Aamir!)
My taste in music is quite divers. It totally depends on my mood. The only type of music I'm never in the mood for is jazz. It makes me feel horribly uneasy.
Teach, Learn, Share
I absolutely love teaching. I've been working as a freelance teacher for over 6 years now and it's the best job I could think of. I have a lot of knowledge about completely random things and I'm always on a hunt for more. Anything you can teach me or tell me about is cool, except math and astronomy. Those are the only two things in the universe that I can't really grasp.
I'm especially really into languages. I speak Dutch and English fluently and I always try to learn more. In high school I've picked up French and German and in university I've done minors in Hindi and Hebrew. I also taught myself some ASL (American Sign Language). I love finding out about unique words or funny grammar constructions in other languages. (Did you know that Hindi has a different word for every member of the family? In one word you can distinguish the difference between a paternal or maternal uncle and even if he is related by blood or married into the family. How cool is that?!)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love cooking and I will take any opportunity I can to make food for both hosts and guests. I can also bore you with fun facts for hours. I'm not much of a party person but I love late nights on a balcony/garden/couch with nice food and drinks talking deep into the night.
