ABOUT ME

98% of all people are going to be better at a bio than me. I'm drawn to Couch Surfing because:

- I've known some super cool people that have done it, and I think everyone else has the secret jealously of those brave enough to do it.

- The freedom and the journey of personal discovery is the biggest lure; and at the same time, I fight with the fear, "only a guy in a mid-age crisis would even consider it."

- You only live once and for only a few years so "if not now, then when?" I have always loved traveling and meeting eclectic, creative people. This would be a great place and time to do that.

- In a completely self-serving way, I do most of my work online and have always wanted to push myself to finally "work when, where, and how I want." I have a lot of friends who run automated online businesses and I would like to step up my game to do it too.

- I'm jealous of my friend John Reese, who as a business owner and millionaire, sold everything he owned and lived a minimalist lifestyle while traveling all over the world for several months. He inspired me "to come out of the closet" and to have the courage to say, "I've desired to live that way for years, too."

Enlightening chats with people who have an IQ over 140.

Seeing new places, meeting new people, long moonlit walks on the beach, dressing up & getting dirty, blah X3.

My biggest interest, although not necessarily my most enjoyable, is the evolution of the internet. Its ability to converge people and ideas, to introduce new thoughts (or hell, even technological memes) and the speed at which it changes. Very interesting to me, especially as an online business developer.

I have have interests in not just reading new books, but in writing them as well. I love to interview people because we all have stories to share and perspective to offer.

I'm a recovering Mormon so a quirky interest in weird religious and spiritual shit is natural for me.

I've lived on the streets in the dead of winter once, making a conscious choice to follow what was important to me...and it was an amazing experience that I wouldn't trade. The stories, the experiences, the perspective, the spiritual solitude, and the generosity of some -- and the bastardly of others.

I'm pretty good at teaching people how to take their interests, quirks, or hobbies and turn it into an online business. The greatest compliment in the world is to make something that is personal to you and then have other people buy it. Most people would be surprised how easy it is to have their own personal website to sell what they create or share interesting stuff that others should know. I enjoy helping other people build online businesses and I'm willing to help others do it -- as long as you promise not to get involved with MLM. :-)
