About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To get all up in yo' couch

ABOUT ME

I consider reckless traveling a legitimate hobby and a real education in spite of the gripes of my parents and most people I know. Above all I love to meet all types of people and immerse myself in other cultures so that I can become a more open-minded person. I get very frustrated with workaday life and get restless and bored if I stay in one place too long. I hope to see as much as I possibly can before I have too much weighing me down. I consider myself very lucky to be able to travel like I do and recognize that someday it won't be possible.

Note to "surfers": I don't like this web site's recent shift toward forcing you tell a prospective host why you want to meet them before you can send a request... I'm more than happy to simply provide free accommodation for travelers! I don't make sure someone likes the same bands I do before I help them out! Feel free just to fill that field with Xs or something.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't want to have a panic attack on my death bed. As trite as it sounds, I truly believe that all people on this planet are equal!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host when I can, and when I'm traveling I love meeting all the good people on this website.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've traveled around the USA, Norway, Finland, and Russia staying with a few hosts, and have hosted a couple of people myself, and am eager to help other travelers with a free place to stay!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite authors in order of favoriteness: Steinbeck, Vonnegut, Salinger, Orwell, Huxley, Bradbury... Good authors of which I've only read one book: Hasford, Golding, Selby, Keyes... there's definitely more that aren't coming to mind right now.

I like a lot of obscure musicians, mostly electronic music, but you may have heard of: Aphex Twin, Autechre, cLOUDDEAD, Themselves, Uwe Schmidt,

Any reference to a TV show is sure to fly over my head. The same goes for movies with a few exceptions.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once I ate around a half pound of Nerds in about 20 minutes while reading about Nerds on Wikipedia.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can make paper airplanes, and I can make coffee. Sometimes.
