ABOUT ME
I'm an introvert, but a very silly one. I start off quiet, but I like cracking jokes and playing with words- hopefully it still works across language barriers!
I live in a co-op with 10 other people, a dog, and 4 cats. Our house is purple, our food is tasty, and I love constantly learning about and from my housemates!
I work at a company that makes software for electronic medical records, and I study wild herbalism on the side. I also like fitting in improv theater, contra dancing, and other adventures when I can. I enjoy beer, and I (sortof) enjoy when dudes are surprised by that, because that's a very silly thing to be surprised by, but it happens all the time.
PHILOSOPHY
Permaculture and interdependence.
"Though the problems of the world are increasingly complex, the solutions remain embarrassingly simple."
- Bill Mollison

I can't host right now due to my living situation, but I've recently started couch surfing, and I've had great experiences so far!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've couch surfed in Managua, Nicaragua and outside of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, traveling with a friend. I wish I could have stayed longer with both hosts!

Music, Movies, and Books
Stand By Me, O Brother Where Art Thou, Dr. Strangelove
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Regina Spektor, Jonathan Richman
The World According to Garp, The House of the Spirits, Peter Pan
I'm half way through One Hundred Years of Solitude.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went to Stonehenge for the winter solstice. Me, some Druids, and a flock of other people trudged across the snow before sunrise and went IN among the stones (they only open 'em up for equinoxes/solstices). Arthur Pendragon, the druid high priest, led a ceremony and, impromptu, knighted a fellow army veteran. There was a drum circle afterward, of course. The stones are a lot bigger when you're inside them!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can speak English backwards. I call it Sdrawkcab. (Do you speak sdrawkcab? Do you speak my dialect? Do you want to practice?)
I can identify food and medicinal uses for a bunch of North American weeds, and I make tinctures, decoctions, infused vinegars, poultices and infusions out of them. (It's easy! Try it!)
I can play the ukulele, and I know a lot of different types of dances, (waltz, contra, swing, belly...) so I can teach the basics, but I always want to learn more!
I can do Tarot readings- I'm okay at it, but I haven't been doing it for very long.
