About Me

SODA | 27 | QUEEN CITY OF THE SOUTH | FEMALE

My personality is made up of some positive as well as negative characteristics. I am very warm-hearted and driven by the desire to be loved and admired. I can be a bit domineering, so allow me to feel like I have the control. I'm strong and independent, and I don't want to be controlled. I am generous more than you know and I don't mind being so; I have a strong personality but in getting to know me you'll realise I'm soft as cotton; I can be very dramatic and worrisome (when I don't have to be); I'll spend money on things I don't really have to splurge on; I'm a great friend and I want you to be happy; I require a lot of admiration and support. I'm often loud, boisterous, full of energy, and has a radiant energy. I can be mad and act like a hurricane only later to be act like an innocent kitten.

The girl who has a few best friends but doesn't need anyone. The girl who laughs hardest at her own jokes. The girl who expects way too much, but no more than she is prepared to give. The girl who doesn't care what anyone thinks and is nice to everyone. I'm the girl who will always say sorry, the kinda girl that puts all my trust in you until you give me a reason not to. I'm the girl who will never leave your side when you need me, the girl who will go out of my way to cheer you up. I'm the girl who will never give up on you~ The kinda girl who believes in loving somebody forever.

I'm a friendly person who is easily magnetic because of my charm and confident appearance. I can be rubbed the wrong way by a person's vibe and this may cause some prejudgments, especially if it's a person who is "guilty by association." But even in this matter, it's rare for me to be just plain rude to them. As playful and full of life as I can be, I stress out over a lot of things. I put on a façade to mask a lot of inner feelings and self-doubt. I am usually good at "VENTING" but sometimes that doesn't get to the core of what is REALLY stressing me out, it's just a quick release of anger. I need to surround myself with people who know me authentically.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's because couchsurfing is the best option for an adventurous soul and an open-minded (and not to mention, cash-strapped) traveler. I'm here to learn new things and experience a new culture from the inside. Breaking out from my comfort zone and understanding the true meaning of generosity. I would like to make new friends (friends for keeps) and do/try things I never thought I would do. I would like to see things that aren't in guidebooks (and hear the stories from famous sites).

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC.
My kind of music is Asian music. Southeast Asian music to be specific. I do listen to Korean/Japanese/Chinese music a lot. I'm so in love with Korean culture and Korea itself. Therefore I'm into Korean Pop music (KPOP). I'm a 90's baby so I'm fascinated about hiphop. Anything hiphop related would do. I listen to anything Asian as long as it's hiphop or rap. I'm not really a fan of EDM but since I started learning how to DJ, I've learned to love it.

MOVIES.
When it comes to movies although considered a mostly niche genre, I'm a horror buff. Horror films are more graphic than ever. Regular readers of my articles will know that I love horror films. Although I am not a great fan of the archetypal ‘slasher’ movies (franchises such as Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Halloween, etc.), I do like a bit of ‘schlock horror’ (such as the David Cronenberg’s films Scanners and The Fly) as well as ‘psychological horror’ (such as Roman Polanski’s Rosemary’s Baby and Jaume Collet-Serra’s Orphan). But why do I love to watch scary films? I go to horror films because I want to be frightened or I wouldn't do it twice. I choose my entertainment because I want it to affect me. That's certainly true of me who goes to entertainment products like horror films that have big effects. I want those effects…[Horror films must] provide a just resolution in the end. The bad guy gets it. Even though I choose to watch these things, the images are still disturbing for many people. But people have the ability to pay attention as much or as little as they care to in order to control what effect it has on them, emotionally and otherwise.

BOOKS.
LITERATURE. ARTS. GEOGRAPHY. HISTORY. SATIRE. FARCE.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't consider anything amazing unless I did it for the glory of God.

I've had a couple of international friends who came here to visit me and I let them live with me to experience how it feels like to be Filipino and I'm glad they liked it.
We have a very colourful culture especially us, Cebuanos (natives from Cebu).
