About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To work and travel simultaneously

ABOUT ME

Wow, I can't believe I've already finished the six-month trip I looked forward to for so long.
But alas, here I am. I went to Australia, New Zealand, Israel, the Czech Republic, and France. And I had an absolutely amazing time. Three months later, I'm a month into my office job, and I have a serious case of the travel bug. I have to go. I have to see new things, meet new people, wake up to excitement every day. I love it. I really love it.

To continue the theme of my last self-description, I plan on working for a couple years, maybe three, and then get my MBA, preferably at Stanford. It's my school of choice, for various reasons. I definitely want to go back to school, I miss that, too. Though I suspect I've forgotten all the work I have to do on my free time. That's one perk about having an office job. Once I'm done for the day, generally, I'm done. And I just got booked on a Las Vegas trip for an important trade show. It's Vegas, baby, and will at least temporarily assuage my travel bug.

I'm an avid reader, so if you are too, that's awesome.

I did most of my couchsurfing in France, and enjoyed it. I hope to not only show surfers my city, but to bring them to some sick places, have some friends over, get them out to some student culture, parties, keggers, that's the way it is. I want you to have a good time. All this, of course, once I have my own place. But if you're traveling and looking for someone to chill with, definitely shoot me a message. I'm down for a drink.

PHILOSOPHY

Defeat your enemies through kindness. Can't remember whose adage that is.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I tell any friend who intends on traveling about this site. I also intend on putting people up once I've got a residence of my own. I'd be more than happy to show people around the city; all you gotta do is ask.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In Australia, Tim was my first. Was kind of nervous, but he was really cool. Had his own place, and I got my own room, with my own bed, cooked and showered with no problems, we just hung out (at my request) and vegged for the weekend, watching movies and having some beers and good laughs.

In the south of France, Marseille, I chilled with Amine, who gave me the CSing experience I expected. Took me out with his friends, went to parties...it was good. Good times, funny conversations, and awesome friends.

Finally, a funny little experience. I was hitchhiking to get to Tours, a city in France, and this guy, Maxime, picked me up right before total darkness, and brought me right to the door of my next CS host. He was real cool, about my age, and we talked about CSing and how he knew some people who did it.
The next day, I set off on a three-day bike ride to see some chateaux, and had no place to sleep. I finally stopped at one hostel and, as I locked my bike, Maxime flies out of the doors and yells, "OFIR! What's up!!" In French, of course. And I laughed, he goes to me, yo, you're staying here? The guy who works here is a CSer! So I met Kevin, a super chillz guy who, with his girlfriend, were hosting an Australian girl. I met her, we hung out for a bit, and the next day Kevin told me I could chill at his place for two nights.

And those are only a few of my adventures.
