About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Hanging out in NYC

ABOUT ME

Living in New York, taking a break (for the first time ever?). I don't do things halfway, am interested in everything, and always have fun.

PHILOSOPHY

You get out what you put in - I try to always contribute positive energy to my interactions with people, strangers and friends alike.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've done more hosting than surfing - but I'd love for that to change! When I lived in Portland I hung out with the surfers there, who are a truly lovely bunch.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only had good experiences with CS - met lovely people all over, as both surfer and host. I also don't have a huge amount of experience with CS, but I think I make up for it since I've hosted friends and friends of friends and stayed with the same everywhere I've lived and traveled.

Interests

Food and beer; thrillers; silly television (preferably of the supernatural and/or mysterious variety); one direction (you don't get it, they're perfect); reading; talking about Real Things; cults (I have a research obsession, nbd); personal politics; DANCING

Music, Movies, and Books

I have eclectic music and movie tastes (like everyone ever) and have a little overlap with most people. I love John Barth, Michael Ondaatje, Philip Pullman, Virginia Woolf, Ernest Hemingway, Chaim Potok, Denise Mina

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A couple of weeks ago I went up to Maine to visit some friends, and we drove an hour north of Portland and then hiked an hour through the woods to this gorgeous beach. And my friend and I walked to the very end of the beach, and then we turned the corner, and we were in this brackish inlet that I swear to god is top five most beautiful things I've ever seen. I dream about it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn how to cook more things - and if anybody remembers more of those friendship bracelet patterns I'm stuck on a pretty simple one.
