ABOUT ME
I don't like much introducing myself in internet. I like much better doing it with you tasting a good beer and eating traditional food. I'm sure that we both have good stories to tell.
THE WAY I TRAVEL
My favorite kind of travel are road trips: they always develop in unpredictable ways and it is exactly what they are supposed to do.
This is the reason why I don't have many references as guest. I usually camp somewhere or look for a bed when it starts to be too dark for driving.
If nothing was wrong during the trip it means that everything was wrong.
PHILOSOPHY
Get lost when traveling an make my guest to feel at home.
If we could say that I'm a kind of lone wolf when riding my motorbike, is also true that when possible I introduce my guests to my friends and family.
When the regional CS community was more active we used to plan events and parties, but it looks like the golden age is over.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Since I moved to Ancona I hosted LOTS of people. Most of them stayed for one night, because they were waiting for a Ryanair flight or a ferry to Croatia, but everyone had his story to tell and something to share. With the local CSers we were able to build a small community of hosts and friends.
After some not-so-pleasant experiences I stopped hosting for some years, having the opinion that something was changing.
For too long time CS has been advertised as "a cool way for traveling for free". The CSers attitude changed. They became more similar to customers than tripmates. Too many times CS has been used as a dating website.
Recently some CS veterans told me that there is still something good with the system, so I decided to give it a second try.
