Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Exploring the world and cultures. Solo traveller. Excavations in archaeological areas.
ABOUT ME
a big fun of prehistoric and ancient life, like to explore all of the world cultures including their connections. Study about Neolithic, Chalcolithic, Paleolithic periods, ground stone industries in archaeology, evolution, early human evolution, anthropology, early climate... etc.
My hometown is an island, Gokceada swimming in the north Aegean sea between Greece and Turkey.
I lived a long time in Istanbul, nowadays living in Canakkale city. Canakkale is near ancient city of Troy, Tenedos, Imbros, Assos, Hellasphontos, Maidos. I would be glad to host you in my home between october to may because I would be in the archaeological excavation area except these dates.
I'm working as an archaeological expert in Gokceada Ugurlu Zeytinlihoyuk excavation site in Turkey. The excavation area dated till Neolithic period at 6500BC. We study about the first farmers in the Aegean area.
PHILOSOPHY
Sharing everything with the others, want to have a good time in the planet.
UPDATE: MANDATORY CLARIFICATION
If you have a real interest in archaeology and travel it would be honour to host you in our place. Of course if we would be avaiable, everytime welcoming the surferers of CS family. But you should understand the CS logic before you send us request to stay with us.
- It's better to send me a massage describe yourself and explain the reason that want to stay with us. You can tell me about your needs, estimated arrival day& time, estimated departure day&time, estimated shedule within the day and your plans in the city. I do not want to prevent your plans, we would find a common idea together.
- There're are a family and living members in the house. The family consists of me, Ebru, my son Ege and our 4th member Mimi the cat. Ege is studying in the İstanbul University so he's away from home.
- We all have our responsibilities and interests about our studies (Im an archaeologist studying in the university and excavation projects more than 25 years), jobs and our own social life and interests. So that we may have some other plans when you're staying with us.
- Like all other houses we have our own rules. We expected from our surferers to be hormonious with our rules and to be understanding. It was clear that the hosts sets the house rules in CS.
- CS is a volunteering organisation. It's not similar with accomadation units like hostel or hotel ( also they had some rules) nor your own house. Our couch is not a stop for you just to sleep, showering, food etc. You could find restaurants or hostels for it. This is a ordinary house that a family live. So that there would be some house rules. Of course, host can never think of harming the surferer or interfering with surferer’s plans. However hosts do not have to give keys of the house to anyone. It's host's decision.
- If you stay in a CS host for example in 3 days, you must understand that people had their own life and they might not the guest to stay at home while they're not at home. This is a simple safety rule for all houses.
-However the host had legal responsibilities for the safety of their guests when they're at home even when they are not there. This choice is belongs to host not you. You can not ask the host to have a sleep whole the day at home and expect him not to go out or wait for you or accept to host you alone at home.
- On the other hand, here is a family house, everyone has a practice in the natural flow of life such as going to work and socialising. Naturally, CS is not like accommodation facilities such as hotels and hostels. . For example, if someone is very tired and need a long sleep, maybe couchsurfing is not a good idea. I am sure there are much more comfortable options for sleeping a place whatever somebody need.
-It can be also better to socialise with the people in the house. CS home is not a hotel room. You must polite, clean and organized.
- Nobody do not have a obligation to organized your bag & clothes after you. It’s better to leave your clothes organised because it would be a public room shared by others.
- If you never host somebody in your place you may have no empathy, please do not ask the host to understand you like you're a guest at a hotel.
- Travellers helps others and communicate on CS, host and stay each other. When you visit us, we expect to contact with you as firends. You can stay with us, have a shower, had a brakfast and dinner with us. We can also visit the archaeological areas with you. But this is not mean that you would find a macyevelist reason for yourself, we must share everything trough this friendship. I will never give you a chance if you decide to take advantage of goodwill. I would report you directly.
- I mean every culture has something to do with hospitality. If you're a guest staying with us you have to understand us.
- Helping is not benefiting. for yourself. You can not look down on people. Wherever you come from, whoever you are, it's not important for us. We are all same in the planet. It doesn't matter for us about your religion or nationality. Do not forget you re a guest and stay with us as a CS community member.
- If our simple family home rules is not suitable for you, you can find many other hosts in the city.
- It was necassary to clearify what we expected and what we would present. Thank you for your understanding.

Teach, Learn, Share
This is the beginnings of the future Couchsurfing University, a school where everyone's a student and everyone's a teacher. Surfing isn't just about a place to sleep. It's about exchange. From esoteric knowledge to practical skills, you have special knowledge that others will benefit from knowing. Include one, or even a couple of items here that you might be able to share - and maybe something you want to learn! We hope that this will contribute to strengthening the quality of this wonderful community. Teach. Learn. Share.
What I Can Share with Hosts
We can talk about archaeology and many excavation stories after many years in Anatolian archaeology. You may hear about many connections about religions, folks, rituels. Of course we may talk about many travel stories that I had done before.
