Overview
About Me
Hello! Based in the lively district of Kadıköy, İstanbul, Türkiye, I'm currently enjoying hosting my close friends who are traveling through Couchsurfing and sharing my local insights into this fantastic part of the city with them. My interests include the grounding of History and Archeology, the thought-provoking nature of Philosophy, the freedom of Aerial Yoga, and the invigoration of regular fitness, all of which I often enjoy with my friends. I also appreciate the quiet contemplation of night walks through Kadıköy's unique streets with them. While hosting my friends is my focus right now, I'm definitely planning to explore through Couchsurfing myself in the future and meet new people. Let's connect if any of these resonate with you!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing to connect with like-minded individuals who appreciate travel, culture, and genuine human interaction. Right now, this mostly manifests as hosting my close friends in my home in Kadıköy, İstanbul, and deepening those bonds through shared experiences. I also value the spirit of the Couchsurfing community and am excited to participate more actively as a traveler myself in the future.
Interests
I'm passionate about both physical and mental exploration. I love the challenge and artistry of Aerial Yoga and Aerial Acrobatics, as well as the grounding practice of Yoga. My mind is drawn to Philosophy, History and Culture, and Archeology, seeking to understand the world and its past. I also enjoy the challenge and connection of learning languages. And of course, Travelling and Camping provide the perfect opportunities to experience all of these interests in new and exciting ways.

Music, Movies, and Books
My literary tastes lean towards authors who explore history, philosophy, and the human condition with depth and sensitivity. I'm a big fan of Amin Maalouf's historical novels, which weave intricate stories across cultures and time. Eduardo Galeano's writings offer a powerful and poetic perspective on Latin American history and culture, Edgar Keret's short stories are delightfully absurd and thought-provoking, while William Saroyan's work, particularly his short stories and novels, capture the beauty of everyday life with a unique voice. I'm also drawn to non-fiction works that explore History and Philosophy, seeking to understand the world and our place in it. Additionally, I have a deep curiosity for Mythology, exploring the stories and archetypes that shape our understanding of the world, and I'm a big fan of the rich and detailed world of Tolkien's works.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing adventures of my life was a 50+ day camping tour, driving my own car from Turkey to Italy and back! I explored ten countries across the Balkans and the Adriatic, including Greece, Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, Bosnia, Croatia, and Slovenia, before reaching Italy. The journey was a perfect blend of freedom, exploration, and the stunning beauty of the Mediterranean. The return trip was equally unforgettable, taking a ferry cruise from Ancona to Igoumenitsa and then driving back through mainland Greece to Turkey. It was an epic, life-changing experience!
