我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

What strikes me about Couchsurfing is a pile of opportunities it has. Firstly, it is an impeccable possibility not only to travel, but also to meet extraordinary people. And I cannot imagine a better way to explore a country and its lifestyle, than through the eyes of the locals. It also gives a clear understanding of what the life in the place really is, without any fine pictures from the travel brochure. As I see it, Couchsurfing is unique because it inspires and broadens one's horizons, it is highly helpful when we talk about fighting biases about the world around us. What I enjoy about accepting guests, it is really captivating to look at the place you live in from the different perspective. Trying to figure out what is amazing about your city makes me notice and value mediocre and ordinary aspects of my surrounding.

But I cannot help mentioning such marvelous peaces of art as "Gone with the wind"(both book and movie), "Der Junge im gestreiften Pyjama"(I read it in German), "1984", "Brave New World", "Roman Holiday", "Harry Potter", "Love in time of cholera", "100 years of solitude", " A Farewell to Arms", "Crime and Punishment", "Steppenwolf", "Narziß und Goldmund", "Der Steppenwolf" and so many more. I am also in love with the poetry of Sergei Yesenin and Joseph Brodsky.
