I live in Cortez, CO, where I have managed a farmer cooperative for the last 6 years. The co-op distributes locally-grown farm products to wholesale and CSA customers. This was an intense chapter, and now I'm taking the year off to do music and travel, and to decide what's next.

I grew up in Vermont, and have lived a little in West Virginia, Virginia, Utah, and New Mexico. I like visiting underrated places, am interested in industrial history, but prefer a world full of unspoiled wilderness.

The first half of this year has been devoted to making music. I've recorded a second album of original songs, which are in the vein of reverb-heavy alt-country rock. I'm experimenting with photography again after years away from it.

I own my house and have two housemates, so hosting is natural for me. It would be fun to help you enjoy this area - I like sharing good spots to hike, swim, eat, and otherwise enjoy southwestern Colorado.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think this will be a great way to connect with cool strangers, and to avoid travel scenarios like going on guided tours or staying in expensive hotels, both of which I try to avoid if possible. I enjoy getting to know people and allowing new doors to open. Richer experiences are always the result.

Specifically, I'm traveling to northern Yukon Territory in July and August, and would love to meet new folks for backpacking and exploring the country.

I'll be in Whitehorse the nights of the 18th and 19th of July. Then I'll be in Old Crow for a couple weeks, and then back in Whitehorse from August 4th to August 14th.

From August 4th to the 14th I would love to connect with someone or a group to do some exploring of the country around Whitehorse - Kluane NP sounds amazing. I'm an intermediate backpacker but don't have any experience in northern bear country, so going with others sounds like a good plan.
