关于我
Hi! I’m Oleksandr, 44 (turning 45 exactly on my first full day in Kuala Lumpur on December 6th — best birthday present ever!), from Cherkasy, Ukraine.
I’m the kind of person who saves up, takes a couple of months off and then disappears into Asia to live slowly, eat everything spicy and collect stories most people only see on Instagram.
Love hiking volcanoes, diving, chasing sunsets, night markets and long conversations over at 2 a.m. Friends say I’m relaxed, clean, positive and have a slightly dangerous passion for bad jokes and good food.
My slow 2–3 month Southeast Asia adventure looks like this:
• December → Kuala Lumpur + Langkawi (Malaysia) – birthday week in KL!
• Mid/late December → Penang & Georgetown
• Late Dec – early Jan → Phuket, Krabi and southern Thailand
• Mid-January → Cambodia: Siem Reap (Angkor Wat), Phnom Penh & Koh Rong Samloem
• Late Jan – early Feb → southern Vietnam (Phu Quoc or Mui Ne/Phan Thiet)
• February onward → Indonesia and/or Philippines, still deciding
I travel slowly — 5–14 days in each place — because I want to feel the real rhythm of the city, find the best roti canai stall and maybe even learn how to cook proper nasi lemak.
What I bring to my hosts:
- I cook a mean Ukrainian borscht or deruny and love making dinner for everyone
- Always arrive with Ukrainian chocolate, honey or something small from home
- Super respectful, quiet, tidy and 100 % follow house rules
- Happy to explore together or disappear for the day — whatever works for you
So if you feel like having a relaxed, clean, birthday-celebrating Ukrainian guest who can cook, laugh and will definitely want to try every single thing at your favourite hawker stall — write me! I reply to everyone and am just as happy to meet for coffee or a night market walk if hosting isn’t possible.
Looking forward to celebrating 45 in KL and discovering your city the local way! 🙂
我为什么加入 Couchsurfing
I’ve stayed in fancy hotels and hostels plenty of times — they’re comfortable, but after a few days everything starts feeling the same.
What I really miss on the road are those late-night kitchen talks, someone showing me their favourite hawker stall that’s not on any map, or just laughing together over tea while the rain pours outside. That’s the kind of travel that stays with you forever.
For me Couchsurfing isn’t about a free bed — it’s about real connections and seeing a country through the eyes of people who actually live there. I love sharing a bit of Ukraine in return (yes, I will cook you borscht or varenyky and bring chocolate or honey from home) and leaving as friends rather than strangers.
I’m clean, respectful, easy-going and believe the best memories are made when two curious people decide to share a piece of their worlds for a few days.
Looking forward to the stories we’ll create together!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情
I once went scuba diving down to 45 meters. At that depth, I experienced nitrogen narcosis, and honestly, I was extremely scared — my heart was racing like crazy! But despite the fear, it turned out to be one of the most thrilling and unforgettable experiences of my life. It taught me a lot about courage, focus, and how amazing our underwater world really is.
教,学,和分享
Teach:
I can share basic photography tips, simple editing approaches, and some ideas on how to take better travel pictures. I also enjoy helping with tech-related questions, especially around gadgets, apps, or anything AI-related. And of course, I can introduce you to a few simple Ukrainian dishes or traditions if you’re curious.
Learn:
I love learning about local culture, habits, food, and the everyday things that make a place unique. I’m always open to discovering new languages, new flavors, new viewpoints, and anything that locals are happy to show or explain.
Share:
I enjoy sharing stories from my travels, discussing books, talking about life, and exchanging ideas about technology or photography. I’m always happy to contribute to a good conversation, learn something new, or simply share a positive vibe.
我可以与沙发主分享些什么
I’m always happy to share good conversations, travel stories, and a positive attitude. I’ve been to different parts of Europe, Brazil, and now Asia, so I love exchanging experiences about places, cultures, and funny moments from the road.
I can cook a few simple Ukrainian dishes (don’t expect a chef, but expect something tasty!). I also enjoy helping with small things around the house and always keep the place clean.
If you’re into photography, hiking, tech, or just curious about life in Ukraine — we’ll definitely find something to talk about. I can also take a few nice photos for you if you’d like.
And above all, I bring respect, gratitude, and an open mind. I always appreciate the trust and hospitality of hosts, and I try to make every stay enjoyable for both sides.
