My name’s Oleksandra and originally I’m Ukrainian. However for the last few years I’ve been living in Poland since I study here. I live in Warsaw and study management and marketing at the University of Warsaw. This semester in doing an exchange semester at la Sapienza, Rome. I am a student, who is eager to see the world and meet new people. Traveling is my biggest passion.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really want to visit as many countries as I can and meet interesting people. Exploring new places is always better when you meet locals as you get the impression of real life there not just from the tourist perspective.
I’m kind of new to couchsurfing, even though I’ve known about it for quite a long time. So far my couchsurfing experience has been really unforgettable. I’ve got to meet unique people, who inspire me by sharing their life experiences.

Interests

I have a lot of interests. I can not say that I’m super good in one specific field but I am capable of doing a lot of various things. A bit here and a bit there...
I used to do postcrossing which is exchanging postcards with people all over the world. It has been a great experience as I could learn a lot about other countries and find pen pals. Now as I am older I have more opportunities to travel and see things in real life rather then printed on a piece of paper and to meet people as well. But I still collect postcards.
I love trying new things. Lately I’ve tried waterskiing for the first time. That was so much fun. Falling, but standing up again until I was satisfied with the result.
I love traveling. Summer 2019 was crazy. I went on a work and travel program to the USA and after 9 weeks of working in a summer camp I had 3 unforgettable weeks of exploring the USA. All over the USA from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean.
I’ve been too many European countries thanks Erasmus+ youth exchanges. That’s an amazing experience.
I enjoy cooking as well, but only when I’m in a mood for that.
Photography is also my hobby. I just love beautiful photos which I can hang on a wall and admire. So I’m also very strict when taking photos and sometimes need to get tons of shots to get satisfied. 🤣
Another very important thing for me is ecology. Lately a lot is being talked about climate change and I feel so bad about it. From my side I’m trying to do what I can to somehow help. At least I separate my waste for recycling and try to reduce the use of plastic.
