I'm a Ukrainian student majoring in Chinese language, currently working as a freelance writer. To keep balance between studying/working and rest, I prefer to spend time out of my dorm, out of my city and (probably not surprisingly) out there in the world. With my best friend, we examine the unexpected of the unknown, trying to reveal not only the touristic surface of the countries we visit, but also it's true nature, conveyed through its people, language, and culture

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

One of my friends was so inspired by the couchserfing experience that she declared creating a community for couchserfers her dream. Hotels and hostels sometimes seem to be the places I cannot belong, so being a guest or a guide or a host can become the comforting way to share cultures and travel with pleasure

兴趣

I am interested in everything, from understanding the structure of engines and discussing philosophic disputes to arranging self-planned trips and going out.
My major hobbies are reading/writing so that is why I really enjoy learning languages for they are the key to crosscultural understanding. Definitely, that is why I really adore listening to people talk/joke/sing becasluse this opens a great insight into their lives and, as I have already proved to myself and the others, each life is a precious story worth telling.
My best friend is also keen on writing and (especially) telling stories, when she's talking (rather 'always') it's impossible not to believe in her sincerity. She's into stand up so yes, every time I am about to roll down the isle from laughter.
Moreover, we really love cinematography and dinosaurs, science and Universe. Even though these concepts do not really look connected, they definitely are - so yes, we're kind of hollistic.
By the way, the most significant thing we're sharing is the ultimate belief in our humankind and people's virtues. Seeing random people smile really makes me happy and a nice chatter about everything in the world and spending time with people is what we're really up to.

As students studying philology, me and my friend can advise on linguistic issues and better learning practices. I am good at explaining Oriental history, language and culture in a comprehensive way, also helping with Russian/Ukrainian. I am also keen on academic writing and can help with final papers/research etc.
Olya (my friend) has been working as a fitness coach for children so she can help with both children-related issues and sports! She is also good at cooking and memes (yes, it was the topic of her final research in uni)
