Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am rather a new person in the couchsurfing. Even though, with the hosts and guests I try to learn about different cultures, show around, remain energetic, positive and smiley.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have firstly discovered couchsurfing in 2012 when i traveled to Georgia. In Tbilisi, I was hosted by the amazing guys who truly turned my stay there in unbelievable experience. They showed me their country from the perspective invisible to the tourists and we are still keeping in touch with them. We went hiking to one of the most incredible places I have seen in Georgia.
Recently in September 2016 I also CS in Copenhagen and met there awesome Elena Mytko.
In October 2016 I CS in Barcelona thanks to Sylwester Uzjel.
In February 2017 I discovered Malta with Nika Levikov.
In March 2017, my host in Budapest was Emoke Nagy.
From January 2018, I started accepting guests myself.

Interests

I adore music and play violin in symphonic orchestras.

I`m interested in learning new languages and want improve my knowledge of German, Czech, and French.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music
I love music in general, the genre depends on my mood. Most of all, I like listening to jazz and classics but folk/ethnical music, rock are of my great interest too. Among the various pieces, I love the music of Johan Strauss, Ukrainian rock band Okean Elzy, The Beatles, Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, 2 Steps from Hell.

Movies
Stanley Kubrick, David Lynch, Rain Man, The Fifth Element, Stalker, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Zootopia

Books
Lolita, Dandelion Wine, Fahrenheit 451, 1984, For Whom the Bell Tolls and Moveable Feast by Ernest Hemingway

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2012, I hitchhiked from Ukraine to Georgia and met lots of awesome people. This trip helped me to realize the beauty of the simple things and that it does not take a lot to make friends and discover cultures.
A year later, I went to Erasmus in Belgium and there I found almost second home, as decided to stay longer to immerse in the new culture and experience it a bit more than just a tourist (well, I was of course seduced by the biycles and delicious chocolate).
One of the most incredible things I`ve ever listened to is the sound of rain. Both when the drops fall down separately and when there is rain wall. It seems to be strange but the sound of the rain has its own charm and makes sense.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some Ukrainian and tell you more about the history and culture of my home country. I can also cook (and teach you how to prepare) some traditional food.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Positive mood, Belgian chocolate, waffles, and beer
