Overview
About Me
My name is Olya, and it's really hard to pronounce for foreigners, so you can imagine you're frenchman, that is the way to get close to the correct variant of pronunciation :D
I'm from Belarus and here I work in web programming area.
I'm always looking for something magical around. Magical-feelings vampire, perhaps. When I travel, I'm unwillingly waiting for something bright and unexpectable to happen.
Love to feel spirits around. It's especially easy in ancient cities.
I've been raised in a very scientific-minded and atheistic family. Nevertheless, I was always attracted with everything spirital or not explained by science. Naturally, it's hard for me to believe in everything "supernatural", but I try to so bad. And sometimes I go so deeply into self-conviction, that I feel those moments of "presence" and "real". The feeling I can compare, probably, to your childhood moments when you sincerely belivied in Santa Claus.
I'm grateful for the world, cultures, history, people of the past, who created this world as rich as it is now, with all its affairs, ambiguity, inventions, mircales.
Especial thanks to people of our days, who helps me to dive into the deeps of our home Universe.
Few words about my lifestyle: not smoking, not drinking, vegetarian, unpretentious in life, but quiet picky in feelings and thoughts.
P.S. Though I may seem too serious, in real life I prefer more playful and jocking manner of conversation :D
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've realised that the best moments of my journeys were always related to people I've met, so I will be happy to spend an evening with locals during my trips, listening to their stories about their homeland and also telling my own stories about my country and countries I've been *.*

Music, Movies, and Books
I believe there are a lot of examples of how each music genre is great. There are a lot of songs I really like in all kinds of music styles.
So much in my heart: Nick Cave, Ezra Furman, The Smiths, Morrissey, Aurora, Alice Phoebe Lou, PJ Harvey, Kate Bush, Radiohead
Also having an interest with opera and ballet, I'm always glad to see new one for me in a theater.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My presence in South Germany always causes such events as walking through the hills, under the sun, with a great attitude to castles and ruins. I'm always surprised by the fact that my body survived.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to love Nick Cave. Or how to be on Rails. Or how to press on piano keys in a right order.
I use to share our local Belarus chocolate sweets "Alyonka", they are fantastic!
I'd be super happy to learn more about religion and politics through the eyes of the local.
