About Me

I love to talk and listen. I studied film and economics. I love theatre, food, and photography. Coffee is one of my favorite things, especially espresso. I would gladly bring you a bag of my favorite coffee beans (Stumptown Coffee in Portland) if you like coffee as well. Beer is another thing I love. I'm a big fan of IPAs. I think my favorite right now is Magic Hat Brewing. If you come to Los Angeles, I will totally take you to my favorite brewery here, Golden Road Brewing.

I am a photographer, and I have a photoblog - outofthesprawl.tumblr.com

I work in the television industry in Los Angeles for a major studio. My dream is to become a television screenwriter. I love reading scripts and I watch a looooot of television.

I was born in Kyiv and when I was young I moved to Chicago with my family. I moved to Los Angeles in 2011 to go to university and I studied abroad in London in 2012 and then Japan in 2013. Currently, I live and work in Los Angeles. In the future I am hoping to get my Master's in London and then work for six months to a year in Sydney. My dream is to live in a global city on every content, so far I've only done the US, Europe, and Asia.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I couchsurfed when I first lived in London in 2012. I took a trip to Venice, Vienna, and Prague and I stayed with someone through couchsurfing while I was in Vienna. It was a blast.

I am coming back to London for New Year's Eve and I will be traveling to a few places in Europe later in January as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love classical, indie, and alternative music. I play the violin. I read constantly, books and movies are my favorite things. Love comic books especially - my current favorite is The Wicked + The Divine by Kieron Gillen.

Music: My favorite bands are Interpol, Arcade Fire, and The National. I have a soft spot for Katy Perry.

Books: My favorite book of all time is A Visit from the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan. I also love Angela Carter, Haruki Murakami, Joan Didion, Junot Diaz, Kurt Vonnegut, and Jonathan Safran Foer.

TV: Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Affair, Broad City, Transparent, Orange is the New Black, and Hannibal.

Movies: My top five favorite films are Brazil, The Lives of Others, Little Miss Sunshine, Heathers, and Let the Right One In. I love international cinema.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think the coolest thing I've ever done is drive down the Pacific Coast Highway/Route 1 along California's western coast. The views are incredible. If I had to recommend one trip to someone, it would be this one; Big Sur, California is the most beautiful place I've ever seen.

Teach, Learn, Share

I speak a few languages (fluent in Russian, English, and Spanish). I am always trying to learn more. I'm also a photographer. I'll do a photoshoot with you if you'd like! I have great taste in craft beer and coffee and would love to bring you some cool LA coffee beans.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook really well. I can play the violin and the guitar, if you want me to provide dinner entertainment as well. :P
