I'm a photographer by profession, busy trying to establish myself in Canada. I recently moved here recently with my wife after she was accepted to do her PhD here. The plan is to see as much of this beautiful place as possible while here.
We both love to travel, have travelled extensively, and recently finished an 8 month cycle tour across parts of Asia. We will happily sit and talk adventure while cooking you a meal or two.

We're also really keen to host people and help others out with accommodation and some local 'tour guiding' when and where possible.

Movies: Terminator 2, Judgement Day...best ever. But I like a lot of different genres. Movies that explore the current idea of A.I. are really fascinating me lately. Examples would be She, Ex Machina and others.
Books: I read all sorts. I'm a big fan of Christopher Hitchens, Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins and others that explore ideas of humanity and religion. A good fantasy book goes down well from time to time, but most of my reading focuses around science and biographies.

Too many to mention. The world just has so much to offer.
One that does spring to mind fairly quickly is snorkelling with whale sharks off the coast of Mozambique. That was beyond belief!
