ABOUT ME

I grew up in the small town of Castlemaine in central Victoria and went through an alternative primary school system called Steiner. I get along with people from all styles of life and enjoy a good time both at home relaxing or out having adventures. Balance! That's what it's all about and I think that it's the answer to so many things in life. For me it's important to maintain a relaxed attitude to life and I prefer to remain totally conscious of the present, where I am and the passing of time as much as possible. While travelling I hope to learn many differnt people's ideas about the world, discover other philosophies and life priorities that are present in different communities and not least learn some new recipees and music styles. There is so much to learn about the world, the brain and the universe and I can't imagine that staying in one place is going to provide a good balanced idea of the world's facts or on one's life itself. So I would love to meet you, whoever you are, whatever you're like and hear what you've got to say about things.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I travelled up to Darwin from Castlemine, Victoria, staying at a few people's places on the way. I couched surfed in Darwin with Bridget Edmunds and things worked out so well that it became a more permanent agreement for several months.
Several nice meetings with interesting people in Paris and Morocco, especially the laid back guys up at the Gibraltar Strait.
Long couch surfing/woofing arrangement for 2 months in south Nepal.

Interessen

My interests are varied and balanced. Practicing the ways of meditation and the zen mindset is important to me. I have studdied chemistry and biology and am fascinated by world and how it works. I also enjoy the arts of painting, comic writing/illustrating and movie making. I love a beer and a steak on a friday night while watching a game of football or Australian football and am a passionate football player myself. I love outdoors stuff like snow boarding, bush walking, gardening and bike riding but I'm also a big fan of watching movies on a rainy day with a hot chai and some good toast. Not that I don't love actually being out in the rain too!

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I would like to learn more about a variety of Buddhist ways, practice speaking french with a native speaker and be shown new music, cooking, media and ideas from places I've never been before.
I can teach you how to juggle a football, speak english, make the most of your stay in Melbourne/Victoria, light a campfire in the bush, snowboard or many more small but fun things.
