Overview
About Me
I'm from the United States and grew up on a small island off the coast of North Carolina. I've been living in Scotland (January - June 2017), attending the University of Strathclyde, and am excited to continue my travels before heading home in the end of June. I'm a Human Development and Family Studies major and Sociology minor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and plan to spend my life caring for children in the foster care system.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love visiting new places on this Earth and I believe the best way to do so is to completely immerse myself in each new place. Though I am new to Couchsurfing, I believe it will give me an amazing chance to get a more personal experience in each place throughout my travels. Couchsurfing is an awesome way to adventure, meet new people, gain new perspectives, and explore wonderful places while saving money along the way.
Music, Movies, and Books
I love Indie and easy listening music, really anything with an interesting sound. I'm also a sucker for Beyonce. Since living in Scotland I've developed a weird enjoyment of the sound of bagpipes. I'm not a huge reader as it puts me to sleep instantly, though I do love movies. I tend to gravitate toward the ones I grew up on such as Annie, Matilda, and Forrest Gump, but I enjoy watching new ones as well.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing experience I've had thus far has been my exchange period studying at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. Through this I've gained so many lifelong friends from all over the world and have made a home in a country across the ocean from where I grew up.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As I'm sure it is interesting sharing your home with strangers, it's quite the experience for the guests as well. I'm new to Couchsurfing, but I am very excited to meet new people through this service. I'm not high maintenance or loud/obnoxious, but I would also love to get to know you as the host during my stay if you're around. Otherwise, your home is your home and I plan to treat it with the respect that I'd want guests to treat mine with.
