This could equally be among the stupidest things I've done, but I hiked a mountain on an island in Alaska in the middle of the night, expecting to arrive at the camping point hours earlier and had to leave in the middle of the night to get to the bottom by morning, but by leaving when I did, I didn't need a flashlight; the moon and the northern lights were bright enough to see the trail, and then, slowly, the sun rose and I was met with the sister islands of the Inside Passage, like Peter Pan's Neverland, and the gradual blooming of morning.
