ABOUT ME

I'm a 21-year-old artist-photographer from Ottawa, Ontario. I love traveling and I've been a few places, mostly in Europe; I've recently discovered a love for my home country, in which I haven't actually done a lot of traveling. I just finished a program at a art photography school here in my home town, and I'll be going back to regular ol' university in the fall to study Art History. I also spent 13 years of my life as a trained classical cellist, so I have a huge love and appreciation for music of all kinds.

Interests

Photography, art, music, movies, people! I'm mainly a portrait photographer and I spend my days overwhelmed with thoughts about the human condition. I am also very interested in gender studies and women's issues, and consider myself a feminist. My days are always packed and I try to get the most out of every day. I love spending time with other people but I've also recently become aware of how awesome it can be to spend time alone. I love music, and whenever I get the chance, I'm listening to music.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like almost all kinds of music. That being said, a few of my favourite bands right now are Chromeo, Laura Marling, Ray Lamontagne, Radiohead, Crystal Castles, and Damien Rice. It's really an inexhaustible list, though.

Movies I like a lot: Amelie, Annie Hall, Empire Records, American Beauty, The Virgin Suicides, Full Metal Jacket, Wayne's World. Again, an inexhaustible list. I'm sure I'm forgetting most of my favourite movies right now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Riding on the back of someone else's bike at 2am on the streets of Berlin.
Lounging in the grass in the summertime in Ottawa with wonderful friends, beer and a frisbee.
Driving through the fog at 4am to Cape Spear, Canada's most eastern point, with my sister.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a photographer and a musician! I played cello for 13 years so I have some music skills, and I've got a good eye for art. Also good at finding the best coffeeshops in town!
