Because it is the EASIEST and NICEST way to discover the true identity of a country or city.

Whenever you visit a city with a local, s/he allows you to see what is behind the usual touristy stuff. As much as I like showing what Paris is like for a Parisian (and god is it not like the stereotype!), I love discovering a city through a local's eyes!

I'm usually the quiet type but you won't stop me if we talk about something I like!

And, to be quite frank, it's good to go into uncharted territory and experience new things when discovering a new place!

Books: The Ragged-Trousered Philantropist, and all of Stephen Clarke's books

I would say shake Prince Charles' hand, but I was way too young to understand what was actually happening.

Also got lost in Rome and wandered around for about 4 hours by myself until the cops found me. I was 11.

Last I would mention is snorkeling on Masirah island, or watch turtles lay eggs in the sand in Ras Al Hadd

What I can share with hosts?

Well at least a cup of coffee and/or a beer. But what I really want to share is my knowledge of the "true" Paris (meaning, not the Paris you see in postcards and fairy tales - what Parisian people really experience and enjoy!). Same goes with any city or country I've ever lived in.
