About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to spread joy!

ABOUT ME

I am a fun loving, outdoorsy guy who wants to share joy and peace with anyone who wants joy and peace!

PHILOSOPHY

Be nice, be happy, don't push your beliefs and do the right thing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have just moved from my old home in Gateway to Arvada Co, and am setting up my new living space, I may be able to accept guests!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to the CouchSurfing community, but look forward to the experience! I have however crashed on couches outside of this internet community my whole adult life at friends houses, friends of friends, and family couches.

Interests

Playing music. I am not a professional musician by any means, but I do have and play guitar, bass, mandolin and am learning to play accordion! I love to be active and in shape. I ride mountain bikes on our network of single track, kayak on our river when it is running high enough, longboard on the resort pavement, play frisbee golf with my dog on our full 18 hole backcountry course, and usually exercise daily. I also like to relax and play on my xbox 360 from time to time. I love cooking and enjoy experimenting with new food.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music. I have very broad and eclectic tastes. I like rock, punk, alternative as a base, which broadens out to include metal, blues, rap, bluegrass, country, electronica, and especially foreign music. I love Japanese music, gypsy music, accordions, French music and any music with many different languages. I read lots of science fiction, thriller and foreign books. Stephen Baxter and Dan Brown come to mind as favorites. I also love movies, and have been told that I am not critical enough. I tend to love almost every movie I see, so I am a terrible movie critic, but I figure if you have to spend $10 or more to see a movie, you might as well enjoy it!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am a deliberate creator, and amazingly, I have built my entire life to be exactly as I want it! I landed the job of my dreams against large odds, found the exact car I wanted for a better price than I had dared hope, found the perfect dog to suit my lifestyle, Neptune, a collie dalmatian mix, etc. Living in Gateway and managing to keep my perfect job through 4 layoffs is amazing. But if you want something travel related, I spent 1 month in France, 3 weeks of which were spent roller blading all over Paris, exploring the ancient city from corner to corner! That was amazing! My sister lives in Milan Italy and I visited her for about a month, visiting Venice, Verrona, Sirmione, and several other amazing Italian cities and places. I spent most of Jan. 2012 in the Florida Keys, camping and experiencing the culture.

Teach, Learn, Share

As an adventure guide, it is my job to educate people on the geology and history of this amazing place. As such, I have done extensive personal research into these fields. I am also fascinated by science on the micro and macro scale. I love politics and economics and read as much on those subjects as possible. I would by no means claim to be a teacher in any professional way, but I have gained some insights through my research and am absolutely willing to share anything I might know. I am also always looking for more information and a deeper understanding of what I already know. If I am wrong, please don't hesitate to call me out!
