Overview
About Me
Hi! :-)
My name's Olli, I'm 23 and I'm a student in Nottingham, in the UK.
I'm laid back and easy to get on with (I hope!) I'm really excited to meet new people and explore the world by hosting and travelling.
I've been in Nottingham for 4 years now studying, and I've met some of the most amazing people here, but originally I'm from Guernsey, in the Channel Islands which is a magical place - I was so lucky to grow up there by the beach! :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to see the world and meet cool new people while I'm doing it. And when I am travelling it would be great to find places to stay as well!
I can't always travel, so I'd like to invite the world in as well when I can! :-)
Interests
Where do I start?
I love running! I've run 3 marathons now, and I'm planning to keep going, it's such a great way to relax and destress.
But my real passion is inline skating (rollerblading), which I started 4 years ago. I love it in all its forms: street skating, slalom, racing, hockey, football and basically any other game you can think of!
I love getting out of the city to go walking in the mountains, climbing and kayaking. And of course, I love travelling - that's why I'm here!
I get passionate about a whole lot of things as well and I'm always excited to hear other people's views on literally any topic, and discuss it with them (and if you don't want that kind of conversation, that's fine too - I don't force my opinions on anyone!) :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I love listening to chilled out, relaxing music. The Paper Kites and Avalanche City are up there. I love going to open mic nights and hear acoustic stuff.
Movies is a tough one, I'm not really a massive TV person (shocking right?) I'd happily watch pretty much anything though (as long as it's not a horror film!)
I LOVE reading and am always looking for recommendations. Le Petit Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry is a beautiful book and still a personal favourite. The Chronicles of Narnia will also always have a special place in my heart.
Recently I've been reading books by Vonnegut, H.G. Wells, Shaw, Orwell, Steinbeck and Hemingway and really enjoying them.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Have you heard of the 24 hour motor race in Le Mans? Well, it's not just a car race... Every year the circuit there hosts lots of different endurance races including motorbikes, bikes and... inline skates!
So, my amazing thing is that, with a group of friends, we entered a team to the 24 hour rollerblading race at Le Mans and won the student category (and some very sore feet)!
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: Rollerblading! (If you want to try) I'm happy to help people practice their English as well if you like :)
Learn: ANYTHING - I want to try everything!
Particularly, I'm trying to learn French at the moment (I'm not good at all) so having someone to practice with would be great.
Share: My living room, my knowledge of Nottingham or any of the other places I've been. Anything else you need, just ask - I don't have much but I'm willing to share where I can. (May be able to lend you a bike while you're here as well).
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can be as involved or as out of the way as you want. I'm happy to talk about anything and I'd love to hear your advice about the area and try out new things.
If you need help with English, I can try and help you practice speaking it! :-)
