About Me
Congratulations, you have luckily stumbled across my profile.
I'm Olly
I'm a laid back, open minded person who enjoys making the most of any situation and that's why I'm involved with couchsurfing.
- Sick and tired of expensive New Zealand accommodation and being surrounded by 18 and 19 year old Germans constantly on their phones?
- over sleeping in a tent?
That's where I come in, as your extraordinary kiwi host.
(My current housing situation means I usually can't host right now, but happy to go mountain biking with people if they want when I'm free or some other activity around the Wanaka region)
I enjoy a drink or two, or twenty two, but equally enjoy chilling out and solving the world's problems or going for a walk/bike ride around the town.
It's pretty hard to describe yourself so feel free to read some of my references and scroll through my photos which will explain what type of person I am. I'm definitely a chilled out, friendly, easy going and debateably funny guy.
I consider myself a well seasoned traveller, so more than happy to help with advice and tips for things within or outside of New Zealand.
In my time back in Taupo (New Zealand) I hosted a lot of people in our shared house, which won the imaginary award for best unofficial hostel in New Zealand.
TripAdvisor gave it 11/10
I got introduced to couchsurfing by a friend, it's a great way to meet people and experience things you otherwise wouldn't see without a local.
Couchsurfing is a great way to connect with like minded people.
Please appreciate the generosity of people that host so always try to give something back.
Couchsurfing has become so mainstream now that people begin to think it's a form of free accommodation, use it but don't abuse it.
I will accept anyone: males or females if I have room (most of my references are girls because my female housemates didn't want mystery guys in the house) they have since left. Good for you guys as it can sometimes be a struggle finding hosts.
Hope to see you in the best country in the world.
Cheers
Olly

Music, Movies, and Books
My music interest varies a lot but I do enjoy listening to New Zealand music such as Fat Freddy's Drop, Katchafire, Six60.
Though won't say no to anything.
I'm not a big movie or TV watcher sadly and my book interests are more biographies and non-fictional stories.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Worked in a Cambodian Prison, had full military escorts into a once Taliban infested valley in Pakistan, drove a 2 wheel drive uninsured campervan in Iceland during winter, hitchhiked into the Artic Circle in Norway.
Teach, Learn, Share
Completely useless trivia, that's one area I shine in.
Do you know your more likely to die from a champagne cork, than be eaten by a shark.
True fact
What I Can Share with Hosts
