ABOUT ME

My husband Dan Fender and I live south of Olympia WA USA for 8 months a year in the woods in a log home we built ourselves. We have one daughter, Andrea Fender, who introduced us to couch surfing, although we have frequently hosted people in our home. We have a financial planning business, with our office a few hundred feet from our home. We are in the process of riding our tandem bicycle across the US; in the past four years we've made it from the mouth of the Columbia River to Mammoth Caves Kentucky, using Adventure Cycling maps. We play Irish fiddle and like to sing.
From January through April we live above San Rafael de Heredia, Costa Rica. We own three-and-a-half acres of former coffee farm which we are turning back into good habitat for birds and butterflies. We've built a small casita for ourselves, and a second home for our gardener/guard and his family. We work three days a week from down there, and host an escuelita for the neighborhood kids several days a week.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As guests in England, Scotland and Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and as hosts here in Olympia. Especially like to support surfers who are bicycle touring.
